League Rules
.
Mandatory Minimum and Maximum Playing Time
- Each player must play at least 2 full quarters of every game; and each player must sit 1 full quarter except in the case of 5 for 6 players (see below).
- Substitutions are allowed ONLY half way thru each quarter except in the case of an injury. A 10 second substitution timeout may be called between 3:30 and 4:30 of each quarter. This substitution timeout does not count as a charged timeout. It may be called anytime there is a break or slow down in play at the referee’s discretion. Only those players being subbed may leave the court or the timeout will be charged as a regular time out to that team leaving the court.
- 5 or 6 player rule: If there are six players present then 4 players must sit a half quarter and 2 players must sit a full quarter.
- For 3rd to 6th grades: Both coaches are responsible to track substitutions, individual, and team fouls during the season. For 7th to 12th grade, a 2nd person sitting next to the score keeper should track this officially.
- IN THE PLAYOFFS, we will keep an official book for all age groups.
- If you break the Playing Time Rule, you forfeit. Please forewarn any coach who is about to break the rule, so that they can avoid the forfeit and rectify the situation.
